- 1/2 tsp. Pernod (or Absinthe substitute)
- 1 dash Peychaud's Bitters
- 1 cube Sugar (or 1/2 tsp. Simple Syrup)
- 2 oz. Whiskey (Rye)
- Coat chilled old fashioned glass with Pernod.
- Pour most of it out, then add bitters.
- Add sugar cube (or simple syrup) and muddle.
- Add whiskey.
- Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
