Island Jerk Pulled Pork
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp coarse salt
- 1 tsp sweet or hot paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 3 pound boneless pork butt
- 1 cup apple cider or apple juice
- 1 bay leaf
- 8 hamburger buns, sliced open
- Toppings (optional) - BBQ sauce, cilantro
Directions
- Combine all spices and rub on to pork in a slow cooker.
- Add apple cider and bay leaf.
- Cook on low for 8 hours.
- Remove pork from slow cooker and shred.
- Mix a few tbsp of the liquid with the meat.
- Serve on a bun with toppings.
