Chili Chicken Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 clove garlic, finely minced
- 1/2 red onion, finely minced
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 4 thin slices cheddar cheese
- 4 buns lettuce, tomato

Directions
- For the crema, in a small bowl, stir together the ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate until needed.
- When ready to make burgers, put a clean plate on the counter ready to place patties on.
- In a large bowl, whisk the egg.
- Add the chicken, garlic, onion, chili powder, cumin, and salt and pepper.
- Mix well.
- Divide the meat into quarters, shape into patties slightly wider than buns and place on the clean plate.
- Heat up a skillet or grill with a touch of oil over medium heat.
- Get patties in there and cook them on the first side, without moving them, for about 5 minutes until the bottom is firm and brown.
- Flip them over and cook for another 3 or 4 minutes.
- Place the slices of cheese on top and cover the pan or grill to help the cheese melt.
- When the meat is done, the internal temperature should be 165 F.
- Lightly toast buns.
- Spread a nice amount of crema on the bottom bun, then press on some crisp lettuce.
- Top with a burger and add some guacamole and toppings.
- Put the bun lid on top.
